How has Christmas inspired Ukrainian artists over the centuries?

From miniatures of the 14th century Kyiv Psalter to modern installations, video art, and digital technologies.

Уперше в такій повноті музей представляє виставку «Наше Різдво»: понад 400 творів, що розповідають про Різдво у трьох просторах – Храм, Дім, Соціум.

Ви побачите, як народжувалися й змінювалися різдвяні традиції: від давніх ікон і святкового українського інтер’єру — до вертепів, шопок, різдвяних зірок та модерних мистецьких експериментів.

The exhibition features works by artists of the 19th and early 20th centuries: S. Vasylkivskyi, I. Trush, O. Novakivskyi, M. Berkos, M. Tkachenko, P. Levchenko, O. Kulchytska, M. Moroz, M. Sosenko. As well as visions of bright representatives of art of the mid-20th–21st centuries: R. Selsky, S. Shyshko, K. Zvirynsky, Z. Flint, M. Andrushchenko, P. Gregoriychuk, B. Soroka, V. Patyk, R. Petruk, M. Yatsiv, M. Bilas, Y. Motyka, I. Marchuk, V. Rybotytsky, R. Romanyshyn, O. Potapenko, S. Shabatura, O. Krypyakevych, O. Bezpalkiv, P. Markovych, M. Demtsyu, B. Buryak, P. Sypnyak, L. Kvyk, A. Kryvolap, Y. Tkachuk, D. Alyoshka, T. Barabash, etc.

The modern view will be represented by: the avant-garde installation "Light" by V. Semkiv, the video art composition "Ascension" by M. Barabash, and the sculptural composition "Nativity Scene" by R. Zhuraev, specially created for the opening.

Exhibition curators: Oksana Zhmurko, Lyubava Sobutska, Olga Gorda-Tsybko, Oksana Zheplinska, Olesya Semchyshyn-Guzner, Oksana Bila, Angelina Zabytivska.

The exhibition will run until February 15, 2026.
